Romans 6:3–4 (NLT)
Family/Baptism Sunday

Baptism represents far more than a simple ceremony - it's a profound transition from spiritual death to new life in Christ. When believers are baptized, they publicly declare their private faith while symbolically burying their old identity under the water. The old self, with all its shame, destructive habits, and disconnection from God, stays at the bottom. Rising from the water pictures Christ's resurrection and marks the beginning of sanctification - a lifelong journey of being transformed by the Holy Spirit. This sacred act frees believers from their former identity and empowers them to live as new creations, set apart for God's purposes and called to shine His light in the world.
