NLT
1 Peter 3:1-12

First Peter 3 calls believers to live counter-culturally in their marriages and in their church communities. Wives are encouraged to cultivate an inner beauty rooted in a gentle and quiet spirit, a calm confidence that trusts God rather than trying to control outcomes. Husbands are commanded to honor their wives as co-heirs of God's grace, treating them as precious and equal partners. The broader church community is called to sympathize with one another, remain tenderhearted, and bless those who wrong them rather than retaliating. These are not passive suggestions. They are Spirit-empowered choices that reflect the character of Jesus. When Christians live this way, it creates the kind of community that makes the world stop and ask what is different.
